Inner Child

July 5, 2021

Q: What does my inner child need me to tell her now?

A: Laugh and be mirthful, even in the face of troubles—to spite it. It doesn’t rule, you, control you, have any say over your inner world nor how you experience the outer world. Only you can decide the emotional weather, or rather, how you will weather it—whether with raincoat or peeling down to one’s underwear and feeling the rain on one’s skin, making ice cream out of the frozen snow, putting a smile on a frozen lump of snow you call a snowman, etc. WE can decide how this plays out. WE get to decide our story. WE have the final say. WE are powerful creators, shifting entire rivers to irrigate dry land if we need to. We are okay. We are safe. We are strong and creative. We’ve got this.
