Empty Calories

Q: What do you want me to know today?

A: Say what you know and feel in your bones to be true without hesitation or apology. Some things come up and manifest when truth is said. Anger can rise up to meet it at first because of the affront it raises to the way things have been—the familiarity is comforting; however, truth takes root and its very detractors can soon become its champions. Trust that the way inward is the path to knowing God and the fullness of life, not filling up with the empty calories of fleeting pleasure that waste time and empty one of time and energy to pursue one’s passions.
