Q: Why did I feel heaviness/anxiety today?

A: Sincerity is the cornerstone of faith. Faith is what motivates change because without it change is useless, without effect. Faith effects the love we want—the peace and acknowledgement that all is well in the world. Trust in the voices that speak of soft promises in believing what one believes to be true, hearken to the voices that speak of truth trumpeted in the name of sincerity. Belief is the thing that unlocks the mystery of doubtful things—truths than can be difficult to fathom or understand fully, much less believe full-heartedly and with mind.

Heaviness comes from taking on what is not yours to heave around—boulders of unbelief masquerading as discerning taste. Heaviness is the mess of unusable dross of what is leftover from working off the mine of thought (over-thinking) and distrust (absence of love). Forgive and move on, embracing the truths you uncover and discarding the rest—not going over and over the same worthless rubble in search of gold. Your only “prize” will be disquietude and mal-ease.
