Acceptance
Q: What is a way I can extend myself acceptance? (Inspired by www.create30journey.com)
A: For the bigger part of your life you have extended yourself the idea of the American Dream and what an incredible work ethic can afford. Likewise, extend yourself the leniency of being yourself, acknowledging that your win or “American Dream” doesn’t look like anyone else’s and that’s part of the gift of being uniquely yourself. The work ethic—espouse one of not giving up nor being a quitter, but tweak it so that it means you don’t quit on yourself. This could indeed look like saying no or “quitting” on someone else, but the work ethic can also look like not working—like resting because the body and soul need rest and balance. Unlike you’ve conditioned yourself, working hard isn’t the only way to success. Do not judge yourself too harshly and you will find it easier to extend acceptance to others as well when their efforts look half-assed or half-hearted. Worthiness and merit are not always for those who turn in their homework first or do the extra credit projects. Turn your work ethic into a love ethic, not based on doing but being. Turn your belief in the American Dream into one of Universal connection. In connecting and being you will find the grace to accept yourself because you’re actually pretty great. Connection to Source will reveal that to you. Everything adds its own flavor, its vibration to the Universal matrix teeming with life. Allow yourself to be loved, to be accepted. Throw away the worn-out, dated programming of having to strive, to earn, to do, do, do, to be better than someone else to deserve good things. There is no lack here, little one. Mother Universe has love enough, plenty and fortune enough, for everyone within this beautiful symphony. Strive, but to become more yourself, not something else. Don’t give up, but don’t quit on accepting yourself. Instead, quit the exhausting job of earning your place that is already yours by birthright. Love, trust—and all is well.
