8 of Cups

Q: What message does the 8 of cups have for me?

A: The answers you seek regarding the troubling loneliness are to be found in walking away or escaping from the bonds familial bonds that still tie or hold to you, call to you. Loneliness is a condition the human soul can experience as part of the human conditioning that no one is to be trusted, that everyone will eventually leave; there is no permanence to be found in a relationship; and while that is indeed true that certain soul contracts are but for a while, the answer is not always leaving; sometimes it can look like giving another space and time or do the same for yourself. Leaving is troublesome when it is a kick of the ego against a perceived threat or slight when at times the situation just needs to be sat with, aired out, give room to breathe, to settle itself down. Problems are unresolved when one predominantly strikes down others before the slight can reach or touch you, but the truth is, it already has. Withdrawing doesn’t heal the wound after it has been inflicted, whether purposeful or not. This card can mean, “Leave it alone!” Give the situation time to clear, for you or the other party to clear their head. "I’m going to get a breath of fresh air” is a…[good maxim?] Leaving something alone to breathe, air out, settle is not withdrawing as a defense mechanism but often a required length of time in order to heal. Some problems are necessary to bring certain themes to the surface to be addressed, experienced, researched, dug into, but ignoring and acknowledging/letting them time to heal are different. If you need time to heal wounds around money, time itself, or friendships, time away can be medicinal but only if those issues are not ignored and pushed down, but rather let develop, heal, become something else. Acknowledge where your defensive mechanisms are in place, disarm them, but also allow things to heal whch can require time, space, and effort to not engage how you might want to. “Leave it alone.” “Better off left alone.” This card can be saying yes, take a break from the things that trigger you, but knowing that it’s there in some way to help you on your journey, perhaps to be revisited at another time. Salome [Shalom?].
